This is my second UTS6H.
First one, APC support decided was faulty after the electrician put in several manhours and lots of my cell phone minutes trying to make it work.
So I'm running scared... -)
The electrician comes back for another try on Thursday and I figured I'd hang the switch on the wall, plug some power in to the UPS receptacle, and step through the initial setup before he gets here.
Initial setup went smoothly - or, at least, it didn't throw any errors or act unexpectedly.
But now I note that with nothing connected, I've got lights 3, 4, and 5 lit.

This doesn't jell for me. Seems like with nothing connected, I should see either all or no lights.
OTOH, it seems like the chances of getting two defective units in a row is vanishingly low.
Having said that... If the light situation indicates something obviously wrong, I want to call off the electrician before he puts any more billable hours into this job.
Can anybody comment?

For anybody else with this issue, I finally managed to get through APC's (horrendous....) voice menu system and talk to a support guy.
He said that this would be a normal condition.

What the support guy left out was that if all lights are not lit, there will probably be a problem once the box is tested.
Further investigation revealed that the power source for some circuits were defaulted to other than "Gen". I'm not sure what bc the label was truncated by the display.
Making all circuits' power source = "Gen" caused all lights to come on as expected and the box perform as expected under both utility and generator power.

I have found this unit is not documented well. I posted an anomaly you might want to read about the wizard setup. The behavour you are talking about I think I might have even run into. What was the problem with your first unit?

Sorry to be so long in responding - can't figure out how to get email notifications on this board.
Problem with original remains unknown. Schneider RMA'd it and sent us another one at the same time - so Schneider gets five stars for doing the right thing . but the actual problem remains unknown.
