I have a APC UPS 500ES and I have no power on the backup outlets. I thought the battery was bad so I replaced it and still no power. Any suggestions?
Thanks
Scott

Marcelino,
I suggest you to do the following steps and check if the unit powers on.
1. Check the battery connection. Make sure that the battery is attached to the unit firmly.
2. Verify that there is normal AC utility power to the outlet that you are plugging the UPS into. If possible, try plugging the unit to another wall outlet and see if that makes any changes.
3. Attempt to start the UPS off it’s battery by cold starting it. There are 2 ways different ways to do this. First try to turn it on while it’s unplugged from the wall. If the Led does not come on then Hold the on power button in until you here a long beep and let it got before the beep finishes (usually about 4 seconds). When the unit is started off its battery it will indicate it is using its battery to power the unit. If it works on battery, reconnect the UPS to the wall and see if it recognizes the input power.
4. If the UPS circuit breaker is tripped, reset it and try powering on the unit when it is plugged in.
In case If the above steps do not work, you can contact the APC Customer Care Center to get the replacement unit under factory warranty. This product comes with three year warranty from the date of purchase or by serial number.
Happy Holidays!

It does sound like this is a UPS issue. If you have already replaced the battery and the symptoms persist then you can call into technical support/sales at APC to check on warranty status. If it is out of warranty you could do a trade-UPS for a small discount on a new unit from APC, or look into any other options you find acceptable for replacement/recycling.

Hi:
When you say "No power", what exact symptoms are you seeing? Does the UPS turn on at all? If you hold in the "Power" button, do you get any type of chirp or beep at all? Have you checked the circuit breaker on the unit to ensure it's not popped out? Can you ensure that the battery is firmly connected on both leads? Is there power from any outlets? Let us know the exact symptoms and what you have tried so far, and we will see if we can help you figure this out!
Thanks
