Newbie, looking for advice..........

Hello All,

I am new to APC as a reseller and looking for some advice from those that have traveled down this road before. I am waiting on my initial training class in May, but would like to get a jump start on learning more about all the products. I am familiar with the 'white-pages', 'webinars', 'podcasts', etc in the learning section of the website.

My question is: Is there a specific "order" that I should begin my learning? I am trying to avoid getting into subject matter that my be a little advanced for me and not getting the most efficient use of my time.

Or, should I just jump right in and start the process?

I think what would be best for you would be to determine your primary product base focus. For instance, if you're a small/medium business reseller, you would want to start learning about Line-Interactive, Double-Online Conversion topologies, and their integration with the Smart-UPS, Smart-UPS XL, Smart-UPS RT and Symmetra RM & LX line. However, if you prefer to do Infrastruxure, you're going to have to start primarily with the UPS, and branch out to PDU's and accessories from there.

We have recently introduced enhancements to our Channel Partner Program. New curriculum is available on your partner personal page (www.apc.com/personalpage). The first program level is "Registered Partner". My suggestion is to complete that level in order to get started in the program. As you progress through the program levels and build your competency around APC product and solutions your program benefits will increase.

Do you resell to a particular target market. Sometimes it is easier to target to a specific market, talk to your customers or prospects and learn their applications, then model your sales based on your customer's needs.
