New Backup-UPS Pro 1500 - Battery Seems to be clicking on and off. Defective Battery?

Hi I have a a Backup-UPS Pro 1500 (BR1500G) Just arrived yesterday. Says it was QA Tested on 2/7/15 

Was operating fine yesterday - the UPS indicated it was roughyl half charged when i plugged it in and left it for the night.

Came back in this morning and it was Beeping and the battery Light keeps flshing on and off and the UPD if Clicking as if it is disconnecting and reconnecting the battery. 

It has a low load of about 160W (for a 800+Watt unit).

Hi Mike -

Let us trying doing this.

1. Disconnect any attached load on the UPS.
2. Unplug the UPS from the wall socket.
3. Disconnect the UPS internal battery.
4. Push and hold the "On" button on the UPS for 5 seconds.
5. Inspect the battery terminal/connector on both the UPS and the battery. Ensure that there are no bent or broken pins.
6. Reconnect the battery.
7. Plug the UPS in to a known good power source.
8. Turn the UPS on.

Let me know how it turns out.

I was going to do this last night, but ran out of time. 

Came in this morning and the battery has stopped clicking and stopped flashing the battery light on and off.

Appears to be working normally - will be testing the a fault trip tonight though.
