Hi,
Bought a new APC Back-UPS RS 1000 model yesterday. There seems to be some problem in the UPS. The "On Line" LED is on, and the "Replace Battery" LED is continuously flashing. I read the manual and searched on the net. Everyone told me to connect the battery at the front. I opened the front to find that the battery is already connected. I have disconnected and reconnected the battery several time to no good avail.
I installed the PowerChute software. It keeps sending two notifications at an interval -
1. The Battery in APC unit is disconnected.
2. The Battery in APC unit has been reconnected.

Hi Apurv,
Do you have a voltmeter to measure the battery voltage just for the record?
After installing the software, do you still get the same message?
If you still get the same error from the unit , you might want to call Technical Support Hotline in India:
1800-4254-877/272 or from mobile phone dial (your city code) 390 222 72 between 9.30am-6.00pm, and our representatives should be able to provide you with replacement.
Should you have any further question, don't hesitate to ask. We'll glady answer your questions to the best of our knowledge.

I would like some questions regarding the UPS such as the exact model/serial number(in private message) of the unit,which located on a small sticker with barcode. I would also like to request the screen shot of the Technical data from the software.
Also, may we ask where you have purchased this UPS?

If you may, please send me the model and serial number of the unit - in private message.
If you have another similar UPS that is working fine, try swapping the battery and see if that will still give you the same issue. Also I would recommend you to install the latest [PowerChute Personal Edition Software|http://www.apc.com/tools/download/index.cfm].
