Hello,
I recently purchased a Back-ups ES 650 and I’m having issues with it.. I did some troubleshooting with what I found in the forums but nothing worked
Basically I can’t get it to power on. I verified around 10 times (and I’m not even kidding) if the battery cables are perfectly plugged in and they are. Anyway I’m sure that the issue is not with the battery because I could charge it. I plugged the data cable to my computer and installed the software CD . It detected that the battery was at 93%.. after a some time it went up to 100%..
So the thing “half-work”. The surge protection outlets are working fine, the battery charge up normally but it doesn’t turn on so the battery outlets are not functional.
Here what I tried:
-cold start… doesn’t work, I could hear a lil “beep”, I could even say a “half-beep” the first time I tried it
-checked the battery wires.. everything is plugged fine
-left it charging for 1 day and try again.. still nothing
-hold reset button for 15 sec then wait a whole night.. still getting nothing
-tried everything from here: http://nam-en.apc.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/70
Also I don’t know if it would be important to say this but when I plug the power bar to the wall, sometime (not always) I can hear this “half-beep” once.
So for now it is only a huge power bar…
Any idea I can try?
thanks

Hello,
please see this link for the UPS's info (direct link from the store, i used this link to buy it)
http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16842101339CVF
i did the cold start by unplugging the power wire from the wall and hold the power button for a while. When i did it nothing happenned. No LED lit up, the wiring fault did not lit up too.
It only did a "half-beep".

Hello Sebastien,
By any chance, can you post the exact model number of the UPS here?
Can you also tell us how did you perform the cold-start procedure on your UPS? Does any LED lit up on the UPS, there is another LED that says Building/Site Wiring fault is it lit up?
