I have two APC Back-UPS NS 1080s supporting my computers/routers/modem/etc. On one, everything is fine. On the other, everything seems fine until I plug in the RJ-45 to USB monitoring cable it came with. It immediately switches to battery power and kills most of my devices once the battery drains. I have purchased a BRAND NEW battery for this 1080 and it still happens. I try the same cable on my other 1080 and it works just fine. If I don't plug the cable into the " bad" 1080, it works fine. I have tried the cable on Windows 10 x64 with PowerChute Personal as well as my pfsense router running apcupsd. It works on the one 1080 for both but not on the other, new battery or old. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hi Ryan,
This seems as if there could be a malfunction within the communication circuitry of the BN1080 in question. A malfunction in this circuitry would qualify you for an in warranty replacement, if the unit is still under warranty. I would recommend contacting your local SE Call Center for continued support.
