My pc restarts when Ups shifts to backup

My pc config

Fx6300 cpu

R9 270x gpu

My ups is APC 850VA SINEWAVE

BI850SINE-IN

When ever i play games and if mains power fails my ups goes into backup mode then my computer restarts. But while i am just browsing or doing any stuff other than gaming my computer does not restarts.

This issue started after i installed my gpu which is r9 270x.

I tried to switch the mains my self off while gaming but than also the computer restarted.

Is this issue related to power supply which is Corsair Vs 450 that this power supply hold up time gets less with higher loads or this is due to the some problem in UPS only like with high load the transfer time increases and goes above the hold up time of my PSU?

Hello,

Typically when we see reboots when the UPS goes to battery, it is usually transfer time related. I don't know how adding some additional load with your new GPU would affect the transfer time though. If it was a problem with overloading the UPS, I'd expect the UPS output would stay off completely when the UPS goes to battery and you'd hear some beeping and see some lights.

I am not familiar with this UPS specifically since it is in India only but does it have a sensitivity setting? You could try to adjust it to see since it typically ties in with the transfer time.

You could also try this test with another computer or load and see if it does it with that too or if it is specific to your gaming computer for sure rather than a coincidence that it occurred when you added your new GPU.

It does not restarts when i just browse or do any other stuff it just restarts when i play games yes it has ups and inverter switch at the back the switch currently is at ups mode only my computer is restarted i tested this with my laptop by taking out the battery of the laptop
