Moving to South Korea

I will be taking a job in South Korea soon and I am looking at getting an UPS. They use 220v 50hz power from what I can read. I was wondering if there is an UPS you can recommend for me I want something at least 1000VA that is online and a good sine wave output. I was planning on getting an UPS that uses their power standards to improve efficiency and not have to use a transformer. It shouldn't be a big deal since 99% of electronics now days have auto sensing power supplies. This one looks like it fits the bill, but they use the http://www.apc.com/resource/include/techspec_index.cfm?base_sku=SUA1000I IEC 320 C13 connectors. Is there something you guys would recommend? Like something from the UK, would that work?

The SUA1000I would certainly work well in South Korea as it is 230vac, 50/60 Hz +/- 3 Hz (auto sensing).

For proper operation, you will require an IEC 320 C14 to the appropriate plug end for the region. South Korea uses both C and F connectors. You will likely find the Type F connector in offices and hotels.

In the past, South Korea has used 110 V power with plugs A & B. Although it is currently being phased out, some older buildings may continue to use this 110v power. Infact, some hotels continue to offer both 110 V and 220 V service.

It may be difficult for you to obtain the approrpiate IEC 320 C14 connection. Due to this, I would recommend you invest in a small travel adapter which would allow you to connect a standard domestic connector to nearly anyother global power connection.

International units aren't normally sold directly from APC if your still located in the United States. You can usually purchase international versions domestically through CDW and other large Tech Resellers.

You could also use a unit purchased in the UK as long as it's an international unit.
