Modem and Router Plugged In
I have Back-UPS Model BE600M1. I just purchased this to back up my modem and router at our vacation home. I turned the union on and charged up the unit for the 24 hours they recommend. The directions say the unit will charged the battery while turned off, and plugged in a AC outlet. If that is the case, can I turn off the unit while my modem and router is plugged in, and will the battery keep up a charge to supply enough for the router and modem in case of a power outage, or do I have to have the unit always on while the modem and router in plugged in? Thanks for any help. Chris
If you have the modem and router plugged into a battery/surge outlet, the outlet will switch off if you turn the UPS off. If the modem and router are plugged into a surge-only outlet, the outlet will remain energized if you turn the UPS off.
