Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 SP2 / Windows 10 query

Dear Community, I have recently performed a clean install of Windows 10 Home (x64) on my PC and I want to re-install PowerChute Personal Edition 3.0.2 to support my APC BE700G-UK and I notice that Microsoft states that .NET Framework 2.0 SP2, which Schneider Electric tells me I need, supports Windows Server 2003 and Windows XP.

This concerns me as I am using Windows 10 and because of other essential software that I have, I can see that I already have .NET Framework 4.6.2 installed.  My question is, would now installing such an earlier version of .NET Framework 2.0 SP2 cause potential problems or would it simply sit there, to be used only by PowerChute?  I thought, perhaps incorrectly that later versions of the .NET framework incorporated the earlier versions but perhaps this is not the case.

I don't appear to have any choice in this .NET Framework 2.0 installation, if I want to continue to use PowerChute Personal Edition 3.0.2, but I would feel happier if someone out there could confirm that this early version would be ok to run within Windows 10, despite what Microsoft states on its download page.  Many thanks in advance.

Hi Bill, thanks so much for that great link.  That makes total sense and I will take those simple steps to install .NET 3.5 via Control Panel.  Thanks again for taking the trouble.
