My 2 month old BR1500G BACK-UPS Pro did an "automatic" Self-Test & reported that either my battery or the entire unit needed to be replaced.
I turned the entire unit off overnight.
When I turned it back on this morning, the icon was no longer there.
Was that just a fluke or is my 2 month old unit defective?
How do I run a "Manual" Self-Test?
There does not seem to be a separate button for this.

It could be a fluke. The self test puts the UPS on battery for a short duration with the load you have attached. Though, turning it off may not have been necessary. Coincidentally though, the UPS does a self test when you turn it on so you likely don't need to run another manual self test.
This PDF for the BR1500G user's guide shows how to do a manual self test. You'd hold the power button down for a short duration. I just searched "self" to find it in the doc and its on PDF page 6.

Did you include a link to the PDF you referred to.
If you did, I do NOT see it.
THANKS for your input

NO PROBLEM !
I just tried to do a Self-Test by holding the Power Button down for a short duration & it turned everything off.
Seems like a separate button for the Self-Test would make more sense - since timing the exact duration seems to be tricky.
But THANKS again for your input.

Yeah, I understand and agree. Sorry that it turned off! It says you're supposed to hold that power button for six seconds. I guess two seconds would be to power off? Let us know if you have any further questions or issues.

Hello, can we confirm the proper way to do this is to hold the power for 6 seconds. I would like to know for sure before proceeding.
Thanks

I just tested and holding down the power button for 6 seconds does work for test and does not power off the unit. Also you can tell after you start to hold it down, you hear the first beep keep holding it and you hear another beep as well as the online icon (on the top left of the screen) flashes. Then you know you can release the power button without turning the unit off and it's ready to test.

Hi @Thablkbat
In my experience, to manually run a self-test I will press and hold the power button while the UPS is on and as soon as I hear the beep I would release it and that would make the UPS do a self-test.
While in turning on/off the unit, I would just press and release the button very quickly.
