Is it possible to disable the alarm on the BN4001?

Is it possible to disable the alarm on the BN 4001?  My office recently got a new multifunction copy/scan/fax unit.  Every time it warms up (3-4 times a day) it causes the alarm on the nearby battery back up to go off.  The new copier is not plugged into the battery backup but apparently is on the same circuit and drawing more power when it "wakes up".  I removed the battery backup and plugged all the equipment (computer, monitor, printer)into a regular surge protector and none of the equipment seems to be effected when the copier "wakes up".   If I can't disable the alarm, is there a model of battery back up that is made without the alarm?

Hi Scott,

The BN4001 has a different alarm set from many of the other Back-UPS family of UPS, however this audible indicator can not be turned off. There are other Schneider Electric products which do allow for their audible indicators to either be muted or disabled completely. The Back-UPS Pro line of products have a mute button on the front display which would allow the user to disable these indicators. Additionally, the newest Back-UPS ES line of products such as the BE600M1, BN650M, BE850M2 and BN900M will allow the user to configure the audible indicator to never turn on, when switching between operating states. The instructions for this function are located in the User Manual.

Now with all that said, the correct way to address the issue would be to have an electrician wire an isolated electrical circuit just for the Copier/Printer, otherwise the constant "sagging" of the line being caused by the Copier/Printer could potentially cause damage to the power supplies of other unprotected devices located in the surrounding office.
