How to Use APC Back-Ups ES for 2 computers

I have been using my APC Back-Ups ES for my XP Desktop Computer
How can I also use it for my new Notebook Vista computer?
Please explain clearly for this Newbie.

The UPS will provide battery backup and surge protection to anything you plug into it regardless of whether there is software communicating or not. Generally, you wouldn't want to use PowerChute software with a laptop anyway because the laptop computer has its own battery, and can manage low battery shutdowns on its own.

Unfortunately, APC Back-UPS work in a 1:1 relation. Whichever machine the UPS Communication Cable is connected to controls the communication from the UPS.
