I don't understand why the battery specs are not listed as Amp/hours or watt/hours. What is a VA or they list Watt (is this watt hours or maximum watt that it can handle? Doesn't the Volt x Amps = watts?

The volt-amp refers to the maximum power flow, while the watt refers to a time-averaged power flow.
I got that from here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Volt_Amp
