My BACK-UPS 500 works very satisfactorily. The issue is that in my neighborhood, there is a strange problem of plenty. Sometimes the line voltages are as high as 280 Volts in my domestic 3 phase supply with phase to phase voltages running as high as 470 or 465 Volts. The UPS cuts off around 270 Volts. As dealing with Government power supply agencies seldom produces quick results, there is a need for some form of manual step down from the mains to the UPS as a practical solution. Would the use of a toroidal transformer be safe? Alternatively, is it possible to get the cut-out set at a higher voltage of, say 295V?

Hi A,
I would advise calling into your local support as they will be able to assist much better than we could as this sounds like you are dealing with international voltage levels.
