HI Experts,
I am looking for a UPS system for my entire house. At present my total load is 6.5 kva. have a welding load in my phase..so looking for a UPS. solution to get stabilized power. I have tried AVRs also. But not much help. I was going thru APC variants, but I am confused between Line interactive and Online UPS systems. Please guide me which one will be best for me and what load capacity I must go for. please keep in mind that the power fluctuation is very very high. Here goes my criteria:
1) I want a sinusoidal o/p
2) stabilized power for entire appliances including lights/fans/ac/microwave/tv etc
3) backup power for lights and fans only
4) must have a charging i/p for solar power also
5) backup time 4 hrs max
Thanks for ur time and help in adv....

you will need to size based on inrush current. do you have any idea what you are looking for on all of those devices?
the batteries in a symmetra LX are modular so you can add them as you please so you could only have one or two batteries based on the amount of runtime you are looking to get once we figure out your actual load.
i'd work on getting some type of watt rating/max amperage draw (i know you said its 6.5kVA - can you break that down or get the watt ratings too?) on all of these devices you are looking to have connected to the UPS so that we can figure out what will work best/be most cost effective for you.
i'd like to see the amperage draw on those microwave like type devices, etc

hi,
so that you can understand the difference between all of the UPS topologies, i'd take a look at this: [APC White Paper #1|http://www.apcmedia.com/salestools/SADE-5TNM3Y_R5_EN.pdf]
i dont think we have anything for solar input but i would look at the [Symmetra LX line|http://www.apc.com/products/family/index.cfm?id=180] for an entire household. it is a double online conversion UPS which is what i'd recommend for what you are looking for.

HI,
Thanks a lot for the reply. I have few more doubts:
1) stabilized power for entire appliances including lights/fans/ac/microwave/tv etc but backup power for lights and fans only.
Q: How you satisfy this criteria
2) I was looking for 2 variants:
SURT8000UXI SYA8K16I
Can you please suggest which one will be good?
