Using the BGM1500 for the first time.
I didnt find answers to this question in the User manual.
1. How long does the unit take to fully charge. Currently have it first time connected to the commercial powered home outlet. The display shows 3 bars under the battery capacity icon.
2. I have a 10kw portable generator used to power the house when commercial power goes down. It doesnt provide a clean sign wave. I would like, when conditions require, to leave the BGM1500 UPS connected to the generator powered home outlet and use the UPS to provided a clean sign wave to my laptop, Broadband router and modem, and TV. I will also need to power my CPAP for a least 5/6 hours using the BGM1500 rather than leaving the generator running through the night. Any problems with this approach from a UPS perspective ? Of course all items will not be attached to the UPS at the same time.
Thanks in advance for info and replies
Have a great day !!
Regards
Sum

All of the systems you purchase when new will have a small amount of depletion. As such the time to fully recharge a battery cartridge depends upon how many cells, ampacity, and charging circuit in place.
Your specific unit takes two 12 VDC 9.4 AH cells. The system incorporates a 16 watt charger and thus indicates I assume from completely flat would take 16 hours to fully recharge to 100%. The literature you will find will indicate a (mean average) of recharge time of 24~72 hours.
These values a over generalized to take into account battery age, temperature, and the UPS charging circuit not being very efficient or meeting the actual specification of output wattage. As it relates to your second question you'll need to connect your CPAP and perform a *Lights Out / Grid Down* event and track how long the system continues to operate supplying power to the CPAP.
Do not assume or rely on the LCD display indicating the operational runtime is 24 hours when in reality it will be 1~4 depending upon RMS load.
