Hi I had purchased this UPS on 31.07.2024 from Amazon India and it was mentioned 2 years warranty on the same., based on that i finalized the UPS and purchased it. It has worked fine, till now. Lately the UPS does not hold power.
I raised a ticket with APC India and was told technician will visit my place. Instead i got a call from a the service center and they asked me the issue and I explained it to them. I was told battery has died and it has to be replaced and they would be charging a sum of Rs.2000/- for the same. When i informed them regarding warranty , I was told UPS has 2 years warranty, the battery does not. This is outrageous and ridiculous.
Why cant the company clearly inform us that item has different warranties.

I would ask them to provide proof and the document that indicates the RBC only has a one year warranty vs two.
Almost every region the warranty coverage is 3 / 2. Three years for hardware and two years for the RBC.
In rare cases the warranty is 2 / 2. Which is two years for both hardware and RBC.
The user manual nor the website actually states the (RBC) battery warranty period?!?! π€¦ββοΈ
But, if you go to the APC website for that specific model UPS. The same replacement RBC can be purchased directly from APC / Affiliate is covered by a two year warranty.
Worst case you can purchase any quality (HR) High Rate 12 volt 9 (AH) Amp Hour cell such as CSB.

I had called up the cust helpline and escalated the issue and told them we were told 2 years warranty. we were not informed separate warranties for UPS and battery.
Today the service center called and have replaced the battery at no extra cost.

On page 14 of the product guide, the standard warranty for the equipment is explained. You have two options: you can resolve the issue with the store where you purchased the product, or you can open a support ticket through the APC/SE website and request a replacement unit under warranty.
Schneider Electric IT Business India Private Ltd. (SEITBIPL) warrants its products to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for a period of two (2) years from the date of purchase.
