I have a BACK-UPS ES 600VA. If I keep using it without the battery, am I still protected against electrical surges?
Thanks in advance,
Leandro.

Leandro Q,
The UPS can protect the connected equipment from surges even without the battery if it is plugged to the properly grounded outlet. If the UPS powers on fine, then it means that the UPS is capable of protecting the equipment from Surges. However, I do not think that APC supports our Customers to use the UPS without the battery. The UPS product should be used with the Battery in order to comply with the Industry standards.

In addition to what Techie had said, please make sure that the Site Wiring Fault/Building Wiring Fault LED of the UPS it not lit up. This LED can normally be found near the breaker or where the power cord is coming from.
