I purchased a Back-UPS ES 725 last month. There was a power outage yesterday and the backup battery did not turn on as expected. The PowerChute stated that there is about 77 minutes in "Estimated Battery Time".
I did a small test by unplugging the UPS unit and then press the power button, the Power On LED is on and it beeps 4 times every half minute. But when I attached a lamp to the battery backup outlet, the lamp does not turn on. I also tried to reconnect the battery, but it does not solve the problem.
Can you help me solve the problem?
Thank you.
p.s. - the attachment file is a PowerChute data file of my system.

BTW, there's no way you would really get 75mins runtime from that UPS. The ES series is unable to sense and relay accurate load information and therefore estimate runtime while in normal online operation. Because of this, when you first launch PowerChute Personal Edition, runtime estimates will be through the roof. If you simulate an outage by unplugging the UPS from the wall for a minute, then plug it back in, the software should be able to more accurately estimate runtime.
Of course, runtime is always a function of battery health, charge, and your load at the time of the outage. Never take that estimate literally.

I would suggest turning the unit off, unplugging it, and opening up the battery compartment to make sure the battery leads are connected securely. Make sure to check both the red and black connections. Once you have verified that the battery is connected, close up the compartment, and turn the UPS on while it is still unplugged. The UPS should turn on and go right to battery (with the 4 beep alarm).
Assuming it turns onto its battery power, plug a lamp or something into a battery powered outlet to see if its getting power. Your UPS has 2 kinds of outlets. One side is only surge protection, and the other side is surge protection and battery back-up. You will want to make sure you the correct side of the UPS.
If it outputs power on battery then it looks like its ok.
