I have a BACK-UPS ES 700.
I plug in the unit, I get the one short beep and the green light flashes 16 times  for 5-10 seconds.
then I hear a click from what sounds like a relay and then it shuts down.
This unit has been working fine for quite a few years. Just stopped last night.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi Michael,
We have many different models of Back-UPS ES and depending upon their design, they may operate a little differently than another family of products. Based on only the ES 700 and the issue you've described, there may be one of two things happening. The issue sounds as if either the internal battery is no longer viable and therefore can not support the online self-test operation or that there is a failure condition in the unit. I would expect either of these to have triggered a constant tone from the unit indicating the failure condition.
Can you provide the model and serial number of the device?
