ES 550VA no power to master controlled outlets after battery replacement

Hello,

Past weekend the battery of my Back-UPS ES 550VA BE550G-GR seems to have died. At around 1am the UPS started producing a continuous high pitched beep, and the power led was blinking. Luckily I was home, because the noise was so loud and annoying my neighbours would have gone crazy. tongue-out

According to the manual this was a sign that the battery had died. Since the device is 5 years old, this seemed very plausible. I've ordered a new replacement battery and switched it a couple of hours ago, but it seems the master controlled power outlets are no longer functioning. Any idea why this may be?

My Synology NAS is plugged into the master, and the data port is also linked to the Synology. Synology is reporting that my battery is now 100% charged, so I am fairly confident I hooked up everything correctly and the device is working. Except the master controlled outlets. I have no power there whatsoever.

The surge protected outlets are working perfectly fine, no issues there. So for the time beeing I hooked up my other devices to those outlets.

Could this be a timing issue? As the battery replacement was only done a few hours ago, and even though the battery level is reported as 100%, I haven't done the 16 hour charge yet, as mentioned in some other posts. I've also pressed the reset button at the back of the device, but it's not really mentioned in the manual that additional steps are needed.

So, it turns out that after the battery replacement, the minimum watt level for the master controlled outlets was set to 80 watts, whereas the attached master device only draws 60 watts, and was thus below the threshold.

I've used powerchute to adjust this to 10 watts, and the outlets are working again. 🙂
