My unit keeps giving the 4 beeps every thirty seconds indicating that it's on battery backup. Only problem is, it's been plugged in the whole time. Now what?

Hi Henny,
The cable comes with the unit has part number on it, 940-0127 (RJ45 to USB) that should be connected on the port labeled "Data Port". For the software, you may reference this link. [http://www.apc.com/tools/download/index.cfm] (depends on the operating system on your computer.

Hi Henny,
Yes, 4 beeps every 30 sec is an indication that the unit is on battery.
There are reasons why UPS will switch to battery state. Not always power outage, it could also be fluctuations, spike and sags or even surge.
I would suggest you to have the USB cable plugged to the UPS and software installed into your computer. In that way, you can monitor the power disturbance that made your UPS switch to battery power.
