After replacing the battery in ES 550 do you have to cycle the power to get the replace battery alarm to stop?

you can - but ultimately you need to do a self test. a power cycle would force a self test since the UPS does one on start-up.

Is the alarm suppose to stop on its own after replacing the battery or are you required to cycle the power on the UPS to get it to stop. I don't want to power down the servers connected to the UPS. This would defeat the battery being hot-swappable.
