I measure the output voltage of my BE500R-PH (230V) unit during battery mode and I got a reading of 170V. Any explanation as to why
the UPS can only give this output voltage? Is this normal or is there something wrong with my unit? I measured this 'cause there was this
one time a power failure occured at my site. The UPS went into battery mode but dropped my load.

The unit outputs a step-approximated sine wave when on battery power. If you're not using a good True-RMS voltmeter, you'll measure the voltage lower than it actually is.

A few things to try would be to test it with a non-critical load by just doing a pull plug test. (light or other electronic device).

Also, make sure the equipment you want to keep up was plugged into the battery backup outlets and not the "surge only" outlets.
