The diagram for the Back-UPS ES 450/550G here: [http://www.apcmedia.com/salestools/EALN-7CEQGK_R1_EN.pdf]
indicates that I should be able to position the battery so that the small end of the rectangle is facing upward.
However, I cannot seem to make it do this. It will lift up a bit, but only lays horizontally, and I cannot (so far) either pull up upward into the vertical position, or push the connector onto the terminal with it in this horizontal position. I'm hesitant to be too forceful with either trying to pull the battery out of the device or with pushing the wire connector onto the terminal.
The Quality Assurance Test taped to this device says:
Model number BE550G
Serial Number 4B1020P31381
The paper included in the box is the same as the pdf linked above.
Is there some trick to maneuvering this, is the diagram just incorrect, or do I have the wrong user guide for my model?
I hope this is enough info. I'd like to get this thing charged up and hooked up before the next storms roll in. Appreciate whatever help you might be able to give, since you're familiar with the actual brand name & models; otherwise, I'll try taking photos & IMing my boss tomorrow.
