Hi guys, I recently purchased a APC BACK-UPS ES 650VA. I know that i need to charge it continuously for at least 16 hrs before connecting my computer. But the problem i'm facing is that in my area the electricity goes off frequently ( sometimes for 1 or 2 mins otherwise for half an hour ). So technically the battery will not charge continuously for 16 hrs, there will be a break in power supply. what should i do??......will it affect my battery's runtime??. pls reply

Though we recommend charging the unit for 16 hours, it can be used right away. Therefore it doesn't need to be continuously charged. It would of course charge faster with constant power but it will still function normally. You will not get the max amount of runtime with say a 75 % load compared to a 100 % load but when input power does return, it will continue to charge until it's at 100 %.
