When first opening the PowerShute software . . . I thought I saw an option that told you how much runtime you have, should power fail, on the battery calculated by what you have plugged in the battery side?
Is that right or wrong? I can't find anything like that now! Thanks jack ":-Dx

HI,
PowerChute calculates run-time based on the load/draw of the battery/surge outlets. So, if you plug a PC into a battery/surge outlet the run-time will be X amount of time. If you then plug a monitor to a second battery/surge outlet the run-time will be less since the load/draw is greater.

Bill, firstly thank you for taking your time. Seems you have a lot of queries to try to respond to.
I must have been, likely, not clear. I'm sure I knew that information you passed to me. What I meant to say was when I was first spinning all around the new software I thought I saw an indication something like, "you have X minutes runtime with the devices you have plugged in." I have to wonder was I in la-la land? I can't find that am I'm pretty sure that I did. If there is no such thing than I didn't see that indicator of run time. 🙄🤔
So the question is does the software show us how much runttime, in minutes, we have based on what's plugged in?
Any you prompted me for a 2nd part. If the devices are off that are plugged in the battery side will the runtime increase? Say I have a 2nd monitor there but it's hardly on. Would that increase runtime?
Thanks so much. I appreciate the fact you have a lot to see on this forum.
Regards, jack ':-Dx

The software shows the runtime as estimated by the UPS and it determines that from the consumption of devices plugged in. The UPS has no idea what you have plugged in, it only knows how much power is being consumed right *now*.

Yes. For example among other various bits of network equipment I have an iMac with 2 extra displays all on the same UPS. When the system is idle and the displays are off, the UPS reports ~840 minutes runtime. When the unit is in use and the displays are lit, the UPS reports 549 minutes of runtime.

I appreciate for sure dropping in with that information. I think my original post says I can't find that report in opening PowerChute? As I mentioned I saw it once but can't find it again?
Thanks! jack ":-Dx
