Do I have to hook my ES550 to a computer?

Can the ES550 unit run stand alone without a computer? I want to hook up my regular 32" TV(non HD/plasma) and Tivo to a ES550 without a computer and was wondering if this is possible. Or is it necessary for ES550 to be connected to the computer inorder for it to charge and function.

It's not necessary to connect a computer to use the UPS, but to change the internal configuration, such as beeping on/off, you'll have to do it through a computer.

What are the power supply specs on this television? It is not necessary to use the back-UPS with a computer only but you still have to pay attention to current draw so you don't overload the UPS. KVar is correct about adjusting sensitivity/beeping etc..
