Disable battery backup alarm when the PC is off.

As title, on the latest Power Chute Personal there is this option:
"Disable battery backup alarm when the PC is off"

I ticked this option, but if the PC is off, and there is a blackout, UPS alarm starts singing.
Why?

what is the pattern of the beep? 4 beeps every 30 seconds or something else?

PS: 30 seconds with the PC powered off made my UPS to display 3 of 5 bars in the runtime indicator.

I know that I can disable sounds with the button, disabling the sounds in that way, disable the sound also if the PC is on and this is not good,
but what are the meaning of "Disable battery backup alarm when the PC is off" in powechute?
