Is it normal for a Back-UPS to make a crackling (arcing) sound during switching events or when plugs are removed/replaced from the unit outlets? This sound is not persistent (ongoing), but it is recurring.

Thanks Bill. Thanks for the prompt and informative responses.
The issue was the AC plugs were not pushed in hard enough to the UPS. Movement of plugs, or switching events resulted in a crackle.
This was also causing the other issue with the UPS not booting a computer with BIOS settings configured (another forum thread posted in the last 24 hours that you also kindly posted to).
I'm happy with this UPS now. Cheers!

Hi,
No. The unit should not make an noise when plugging or unplugging load. If the unit is under warranty I suggest you contact local support for assistance.
Local support contact information will be found at this link.
