Hi Guys
I have a BR800I its already out of warranty, my issue is every time i unplug the battery and the utility supply, then plug it all again, when i switch ON the UPS, LED is blinking and its normal right, but i heard a clicking sound inside the unit and it last more 1 minute. I suspect the relay cause the clicking sound. So, do you have any idea whats going on of my unit? After the sound everything back to normal. Thanks

Yes, the relay is the only component in the UPS can make the clicking sound.
Copy of the APC K-base ID: 39:
The relay inside the UPS may be audible in some environments. The relay switches when Intelligent Battery Management features such as Boost and Trim are initiated and when the UPS switches to battery. This is proper operation of the UPS.
And also I would like to gather some more information to provide you my opinion. How long have you been facing this Clicking sound? Is this happening whenever you switch off and on the UPS? Does it occur with load or without load attached? What is the UPS front lights sequences when the unit is clicking? Have you tried the UPS in different wall sockets or circuit? Have you tried the UPS in low sensitivity mode? Do you have other Identical unit with good known battery? If so, could you please swap the battery and check if it makes difference?

Hanz,
Please call in the regional APC Customer Care Center as they can do the further troubleshooting and provide you the replacement unit if the unit is under warranty. If the UPS is not under warranty, they can guide you on how to get this unit serviced.
Thanks!

Hi Bala
I encounter this lately only, i think last week, the clicking sound so fast. Every time i switch off and on the unit for a long period of time then here's comes the clicking sound again also if i unplug the power supply and battery. Light of the UPS still in normal sequence. I try to plug the UPS to other outlet but still the same. Yeah i set already the sensitivity to Low using PCPE. No we dont have same model of the said ups. So is there anything we can do for this? thanks in advance

Hanz,
Based on your information, I believe that there is something wrong in the UPS relay switching operation.
