Cannot uninstall old version software

Bought a new 550VA/330W unit. I have replaced XP with Vista. I cannot uninstall the old version - error message states "APC PowerChute Personal Edition is unable to find the required Service Pack. Please install the latest service pack and try aagain". I tried to install version 2.0 with the enclosed CD but it won't take. Version 1.5 is still installed.

Bottom line - can't get Vista version in because the XP version won't uninstall. Help!

Sounds like you're going to need to do a manual uninstall. Being that procedure will involve a few registry changes, I'd recommend calling APC support at 800-890-4272. They'll want to properly walk you through the procedure.
