I have a BE350C that is about 8 years old. I haven't used it in several years so I know battery is probably shot. Before I decide on replacing the original battery or upgrading to a more relevant unit I need to see if this one will work for my application.
The UPS will only support a Netgear ReadyNAS (55w) and protect a printer, no other equipment. The NAS can monitor a USB UPC with NUT however the BE350C used the old style RJ45-Serial cable. Does anyone know if the cable can be replaced with an RJ45-USB and work with NUT on the NAS?

Thanks for your reply. I was hoping to save some money and some landfill space. I guess I'll have to start looking at other options.

i believe the answer is no based on [this compatibility chart|http://nam-en.apc.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2396/] that indicates it is only supported by that cable you already have and the powerchute business edition software. i do not have one here to test the USB cable with the powerchute business edition but i do not believe it will work.
if anyone else knows different, please chime in.
