Can UPS power computer and charging at the same time?

Hi, all.

I am new to UPS and I intend to buy one or more UPS to provide backup power to my computers. Can a common UPSs power computer and charging its own batteries at the same time? (or I need to charge the batteries first while they are completely discharged, before I power computer through the UPS) If not, what is the term / function of the UPS must have if it has these power equipment while charging function? Thank you very much.

It is recommended when you first start a UPS to allow it to charge charge before connected equipment. Once fully charged the UPS will charge while there is a load connected.
