Can I install PCBE on Back-UPS-XS-1000VA on Windows Server 2012?

I hear that the personal edition is very SSD unfriendly, becuase it has a lot of write cycles that go on and I have a Samsung 840 128GB SSD drive. I do not want to deal with too many I/O writes like the personal edition has.

I hear that the business edition is easier on SSD drives and I was wondering if I can install it and it would work with the OS and the UPS I have.

Unfortunately you cannot install PCPE with a smart ups or PCBE with a back ups. PCPE is designed for back ups and PCBE for smart ups. Also, we don't officially support windows server 2012 for PCPE as it's not a desktop operating system, although that doesn't necessarily mean it won't work.

This is a hyper-v lab machine. I was able to get PCPE installed in Windows Server 2008 R2 though. Hope this works. Thanks for the response.

you may run into issues with shutdown timing since the delays in personal edition may not be adequate for a server class OS shutdown. then, generally the software does not uninstall properly I find.
