I understand that the self-test is performed on power-up, starting with with the green led flashing. From the manual:
• The green On-Line indicator flashes.
• The yellow On Battery indicator lights while the Self-Test is being performed.
• When Self-Test has successfully completed, only the green On Line indicator will be lit.
• If the internal battery is not connected, (see Step 1 above) the green On Line indicator and red Replace Battery indicator will light. The BackUPS will also emit a chirping sound.
But my unit now never gets to the second 'yellow' step - it just clicks off again with no sound or other indication.
The unit had a battery replacement around a year ago and has otherwise been performing well. However, the behaviour I have described above began after a recent power cut. What does this behaviour indicate?

Hi,
The UPS may have an internal fault. You can try a brain dead to restore the UPS.
1: Disconnect any attached load.
2: Unplug the UPS from the wall socket.
3: Disconnect the UPS' internal battery.
4: Push and hold the "On" button on the UPS for 5 seconds
5: Reconnect internal battery.
6: Plug UPS in to known good power source.
7: Turn UPS on.
If that does not restore the UPS and the battery reads good (around 13.5v DC) the UPS should be replaced. If the battery is low or high you should replace the battery. Good float voltage for a 12v DC battery is 13.5 Greater means the battery is over charging. Lower means there may be a bad cell.
