Button to silence BG500 alarm?

Dear APC or BG500 owners: Can one press a button on the BG500 to silence an active alarm?

What I'm hoping for is that if the alarm is sounding because the mains power has dropped off, or if the internal battery needs replacing, I can press a button and leave the unit on and doing its job, as one can do with a Smart-UPS.

I've looked through the User Manual but didn't see a way to do that. I've been using APC stuff for about 25 years and that's always been a hallmark difference between Back-UPS and Smart-UPS. Is there really no way to silence an alarm on this fancy new thing, and I still have to have to move up to the Smart line for that feature? Have I just blindly missed that in the User Manual?

Hi,

You can silence the alarms through the web interface. Log in and go to UPS - Settings.

Got it. Thanks, Bill. I think you're implicitly answering "No" that there's no easy button press that silences it. If I were always on-site when an alarm sounds, disabling it via web would work okay, but I was hoping there'd be a simple press of a button so I could tape a label tag onto these things with an instruction saying something like "press here to silence alarm, then call me." 

Please let me know if you mean to say there's really no way to do it that's as straightforward as pressing a physical button, and I'll set your answer as /the/ answer.

Your understanding is correct there isn't a feature to silence the alarm on the actual UPS just from the web interface as Bill has shown.
