I just picked up a brand new APC UPS ES 750, the QA test attached shows a date of 6/12/10.
I've connected the battery and plugged it in to charge.
Then I plugged in my computer and monitor but when turning on the UPS it just started beeping and flashing a red error icon on it.
So I unplugged everything from it and it has been charging for two hours now with nothing plugged into it.
I installed the APC Power Chute software on my PC and when I run it, it says "Battery in APC unit is disconnected".
When I try and run the self test it fails.
The Current Status according to Power Chute is:
Electrical Power : Ac Power Utility
Remaining battery : unknown
Battery is: unknown
Last Transfer: None Recorded
Result of last Self test: Not recorded
Input Voltage: 120 volts.
Any idea of what can be wrong with it or what else I can check?
Thanks!
Kevin

It was plugged in all night so it's been just over 24 hours now and it still displaying the "no battery" notification and when I press the on button it beeps and flashes the red error icon.
How do I go about getting it fixed or replaced?
Thanks
Kevin

ok great. it is a fairly new unit. if it does not start charging up and reporting status over the next day or so then we will look into a replacement unit or battery for you but lets give it some time.

yes, it should be there. i'd recommend definitely making sure those two connections are securely connected, which you did and let the unit charge up for several hours. you can leave it on or off during this time but try not to play around with the battery which will cause the charge to take longer. lets see if it clears up after a day or so, if you can and charges up.
what are the first several digits of the UPS serial number? something like JB0934?
thanks

Yes, the bottom one was already connected but the red one wasn't. So I connected the red one.
After the first attempt with the beeping and red icon flashing I unplugged it and opened it up again and pulled off both connectors and reattached them again just to make sure.
I did leave the clear plastic piece on that surrounds the red connector as it looked like a shield and did not impede the connection.
