What is the best UPS to plug a workstation, CRT Monitor, speakers and a printer into? I would like it to last somewhere around 7 minutes. I have seen some that say 4 but I didn't know if there were ones that lasted longer without power.

If this is an option, you may want to look into getting an LCD monitor. 15" LCD gives you about the same usable viewing area as a 17" CRT and a 17" LCD gives more. It will shave off about 100 watts of power use over a CRT and there is no inrush power, so you'll get more runtime and save on having to get a larger UPS to accommodate for CRT's surge current.
When you consider the improved picture quality as well, it maybe worth it. Fonts look razor sharp on LCDs.

I personally like the Brick model. In your pictures it looked like the 500 model. So should I be going with something more a long the lines of the 750?

hi
we have several different models based on what you are looking for. to begin, we need to know how many watts your computer and equipment is capable of drawing. you can find the size of the power supply on the power supply itself or maybe you already know. we can estimate how much a CRT monitor will pull as well as speakers. a printer, we'd recommend plugging into the surge side, especially if a laser printer. but also, we'd need to know how much wattage that pulls.
to begin, maybe you want to start looking at these runtime charts below with each different type of UPS that is designed for a PC or workstation. all of the different models have different features and wattage capabilities.
we have four different families - ES, CS, LS, and RS. ES are the base models and RS are the top of the like Back UPS.
[ES Runtime chart/models|http://www.apc.com/products/runtime_for_extendedruntime.cfm?upsfamily=21]
[CS Runtime chart/models|http://www.apc.com/products/runtime_for_extendedruntime.cfm?upsfamily=17]
[LS Runtime chart/models|http://www.apc.com/products/runtime_for_extendedruntime.cfm?upsfamily=22]
[RS Runtime chart/models|http://www.apc.com/products/runtime_for_extendedruntime.cfm?upsfamily=23]
again, this is just an idea at this point since we need to know a little bit more about your power draw. also, certain units look different such as if you want a tower model or not, more LED indicators, automatic voltage regulation, etc

Sorry it took so long to respond. The user has a Precision Workstation 370 which on the Power Supply says Max Output 350W. Then they will have a CRT. I asked them if they have anything else on the UPS and they said no. So just the CRT and the Precision Workstation. If anybody had a printer on it at most it would be a HP like a Deskjet 5550 which has a max output of 2 Watts when off 4 when during non-printing and 30 when printing.

ok do you have any preference on a tower model (outlets on back of UPS) or a "brick" model where the outlets are located on the top.
[here is an example of the tower model|http://www.apc.com/products/moreimages.cfm?partnum=BR500&type=Front%20Left]
[here is an example of the brick model|http://www.apc.com/products/moreimages.cfm?partnum=BE750G&type=Front%20Left]
we can go from there.

yeah,
also - the units i posted were just examples of form factors. i wasnt suggesting those models because i believe they'd be too small to handle the load of the CRT as KVar mentioned.
sorry for the confusion.

the largest "brick" model that we have is the BE750G.
at ~200 watts you'd get about 14 minutes.
at 17" CRT might be something like ~100-120 watts itself though. an LCD is more around ~40-60 watts i'd say..
its hard to estimate how much the computer pulls idle even though it has a maximum of a 350 watt power supply.
in conjuction with checking out our UPS selector at http://www.apc.com/sizing/selectors.cfm and checking with the sales department, i'd recommend either a BE750G at the minimum or the BR900/BR800BLK (these models are basically the same except for the color BLK - being black).
i think you will get more than 7 minutes but we have to make sure the power aspect is sized appropriately.
just to note, APC does not recommend plugging the printer into a battery backup outlet. i have sized this up, assuming you'd just plug into the surge only outlets.
