Battery Test?

Hi,

Is there a way to test the battery on our UPSs? We are all on Mac.
Let me know if you need more info.

Thanks in advance.
Kelly

Hi,

With the BK300C, you'd have to do the test manually. This is the procedure:

Press the upper portion of the Power 1/0 switch and then switch "On" the equipment connected to the UPS. The Power 1/0 switch should be lit. Utility power is supplied to the equipment. Perform a simulated utility blackout test to confirm the UPS unit can switch from utility power to battery power and back again, without affecting equipment powered by the UPS. Connected equipment must be "On". Start the test by unplugging the UPS power cord.
+1. The UPS will then beep once every five seconds (or continuously) to remind you that your equipment is powered by a limited capacity power source.+
+2. Restore power to the UPS by reconnecting the UPS power cord. If the equipment operation was undisturbed throughout the testing, the system is operating properly.+

The other models listed will follow the every 14 day pattern. They will either have a replace battery LED flashing or power on/replace battery LED flashing at the same time. The 350's according to the manual will flash both lights and the 750 according to the manual will only flash the replace battery. There will also be constant tones. On the 500, Short beeping 2 times every 2 seconds for 1 minute repeated every 5 hours and Power On LED - flashing 2 times per second is what the manual states.

Essentially, you'd see some lights flashing and hear some beeping.

Hello,

What type of UPSs do you have? Most UPSs have a battery test that it runs automatically every 2 weeks (unless you have disabled it) or you can initiate it from the front panel of the UPS.

Let me know the type/exact model of UPS and I can tell you how to initiate a UPS self test (considered the battery test) but most likely, it does it every two weeks anyway.

We have a variety of UPSs listed below:

- UPS 300 - BK300C
- UPS ES 350 - BE350U
- UPS ES 350 - BE350R
- UPS ES 500 - BE500U
- UPS ES 750 - BE750BB

If the battery runs a self-test automatically every 2 weeks, then what will it do to alert me when the battery is dead?

Thanks, Kelly
