Backups do not work

I have about 10 of these backups from APC so far. However, every time the power is interrupted, none of the computers stay on except for the laptops with batteries in them. Why don't these things keep the computers on?

Check where you have the devices plugged into the UPS. Some of the outlets are "Surge Protection Only" and others provide the battery power. Obviously, make sure your computers are in the battery powered outlets.
