Backups Pro 650 Flashing lights problem

Hi,

I recently got my hands on second hand Backups Pro 650 UPS. It had a faulty battery so I had it replaced. With power cord unplugged I am able to start the UPS and it is showing as running properly from battery. However the moment I attach the power cord the unit starts to perform a self test, which apparently fails and I end up with 3 lights flashing simultaneously: on-line, overload and replace battery.The only led that is not lit at that time is the on battery one.

Can you advice what could be wrong and is this beyond fixing?
