I have a Backups PRO 1500 S. We had a big wind storm recently and the power briefly went out. My attached computer was in sleep mode. I tried to power the Backups off, causing the unit to throw an F02 error before it shut down.
Everything about the unit currently seems to be fine: the battery charged fully, it has passed self-tests both through the power button and through PowerChute Personal Edition software. But every 5 hours, it goes into beeping mode. I have twice tried powering the computer and monitor off, disconnecting everything, shutting the Backups off, disconnecting its battery, giving it a couple minutes, then reversing the process. It still powers up fine, seems to function fine, but continues to do a beep cycle every five hours, or any time the power glitches.
I'm not pleased that the self-test cannot report an error, but the problem persists. How do I determine what is wrong, and how do I fix this?

You’ll need to review the event and data logs to see what are the active faults / errors.
Provide both data & event logs for review here. The vast majority of problems will be captured and displayed on the LCD.
When the unit beeps go to the LCD and confirm the current state, input voltage, output voltage, frequency, etc.
If you see the AVR indicator on during this time it simply tells you the system is working as expected by trim / boosting the output.
If you see the system is not online but in battery only mode. Again, it’s working properly by switching over to battery to provide cleaner power as the input is considered dirty.
As an aside a F02 is a connected short. Meaning there is something wrong with the attached load or the UPS has an internal fault.

I'm not sure what you're talking about. There are no "event and data logs," it's a UPS. The display shows that one event occurred, though that might be new, but apparently one cannot dive any deeper than that on the display. The PowerChute software shows nothing, and has no capacity for data logs. It has a one-page display that shows some general event information, that's all. See attached.
Frankly, the unit design is a disappointment in terms of providing useful diagnostic information.

Each of the tabs will show different data and metrics. Show me each tab once select.
As a reminder the software will only capture information while the computer is attached to the UPS and on.
This specific model does not have enough on board memory to store all the event’s except critical faults.
