The unit shut down. When I attempted to turn it back on I got a flashing green light....after a few seconds I get a red light and an alarm. What is wrong with it???

It's quite likely that the battery has failed. The flashing green light indicates that your UPS is about to perform a self test. The red light and alarm mean that the test failed, and the usual cause is a bad battery.

Battery life is between 3-5 years.
