BackUPS ES 650 connected with Studio Hybrid 140g Desktop

I have a Dell Studio Hybrid 140g Desktop and an 24" LCD monitor connected to BackUPS ES 650 UPS system. I frequently get a red LED alarm with "Battery backup overload and has been corrected" message from day one. When informed APC about this, I was told that this could be a software issue and nothing to worry. This is a frequent nuisance and recently complained to APC about this. After complaining to APC, in a couple of days, the UPS switched itself off thereby cutting the supply to the computer also. This has put my computer system under danger. I had complained again about this. They sent their engineer to look into the problem, and the engineer reported a problem with the UPS circuit board. But after this, APC is silent about the replacement/service. To my last communication to the company thro their Mysupport portal, there is no response since 4 days. I had a lot of trust on the company. I am wondering whether I made a mistake of purchasing an APC system. Poor service !!! My service request no is C1-1289284473. Hope the company will act on my complaint atleast after reading this message.

Vijay,

Please be aware that the size of the UPS depends upon the equipment power consumption. Whenever the connected equipment exceeds the UPS rated capacity, the UPS will be overloaded. What is the power consumption(Watts) or the maximum input current draw of the Studio Hybrid 140g Desktop? This information can be found on the equipment power specification or from the manufacturer.

Hi,

Thanks for your response. The computer alongwith the monitor consumes around 72 watts of power. The UPS capacity is 390 watts. Hence there is no question of overload at all.
Moreover the engineer has reported a PCB problem. All I want APC to do now is to replace the unit with a new unit, since I am facing the problem from day one.
