After a few months of very satisfactory and uneventful service, I am suddenly receiving the note "power source unknown". Obviously my computer is on (and plugged into the UPS). I can't remove or reinstall the PowerChute software.
I have connected to other outlets but receive the same message.

What OS are you using? Please make sure that you aren't using any USB hubs and that you are connected directly to the USB port on your computer. Did you install any programs lately that could have led to this?
