I use this on a boat to power tivo's when switching to generator from shore power, but when I shut down of generator at night when on a mooring and UPS loses all it's charge as there is no ac for 12 HRS it does not reapply power upon getting AC again in AM.
Power light goes to red and I must push power button twice to reapply power.
This would not be a problem but UPS is hard to access.
Any idea how to just get the UPS to simply power right on again?
No computer handy at this application as it is just poweriing Tivo's so I cannot access the software.
TIA!

It may have a pre-configured or unchangeable protection parameter built into it, which requires the battery to return to xx % of state of charge before allowing the output to power back up after battery exhaustion.
This is so that there is enough power is left to protect against subsequent outages(the purpose the UPS was designed for).

John,
I think the problem we're going to run into here is that the Back-UPS line doesn't have automatic restart, especially if the UPS powers off due to discharged batteries. The Back-UPS would typically do a graceful shutdown then go to Low Voltage Sleep Mode until input power returns, however, there's no PC interaction so you're just fully discharging the batteries.
IDK where I was that day you posted the last one about 2 Tivo's on a boat and EZ suggested an ES650, but that wouldn't do an automatic restart either.
Can I ask if you called in and spoke to Nate this evening around 8pm EST?

Thanks for the response.
I did not call in or speak to anyone on this matter.
Really need some help though as having to pull apart a coubh that the equipmewnt is mounted under to restart the UPS is quite a chore.
Ideas?

John,
Thanks for clarifying. There was a similar phone call when I closed in regarding a TiVO in the discussion so I wanted to make sure that it wasn't you.
Anyways, there is no simple way around it. The Back-UPS cannot be auto-restarted after a full discharge.
