So I'm in search for a low VA Ups with configurable startup delay and gigabit port protection.
The BR550GI almost suffice all of the above conditions except AFAIK it doesn't have a startup delay setting. Do I know this right?
I mean.. if the ups turns off because the battery is depleted and the power comes back, it immediately turns on? Even if it doesn't have enough battery - in case of an immediate power out again - to wait for the connected computers to boot up and shutdown again?

Hello,
The UPS are designed to work with software to power off an attached PC prior to the battery draining. The options are, Preserve battery power or Keep computer on as long as possible. Each settings give a time option. Preserver battery power will begin the OS shutdown process after the UPS has been on battery for x minutes. The options are 1 - 5 minutes. This setting states "Use this option to save battery power for successive power outages. Keep computer on as long as possible offer setting between 5 and 8 minutes. It is up to the user to determine how long the OS need to power off and back on when selecting this option.
The UPS is designed to power back on when AC is restored to restart a PC without user intervention. Restarting the PC is based on the BIOs setting of the PC not PowerChute. Since PowerChute is software that runs on a PC it cannot restart the PC.
AS for gigabit surge protection we offer a surge protector. https://www.apc.com/shop/us/en/products/APC-ProtectNet-standalone-surge-protector-for-10-100-1000-Ba...
If you are looking for a Smart-UPS that allow for the delay of outlet gorup power on the lowest rated is an SMT750. https://www.apc.com/shop/us/en/products/APC-Smart-UPS-with-SmartConnect-Remote-Monitoring-Pure-Sine-...

Hi Devit,
Unfortunately you are correct. There is no option to delay the startup on Back UPS. If you require this option you would have to look at our range of Smart UPS.
Regards,
Tom

I see.
Can you please explain to me - because I have a very low IQ - how a UPS is useful (any type, including entry level ones) when it turns on after the power comes back but it doesn't have enough charge in it to do a graceful shutdown of the connected equipments in case of immediate power out?
Also can you please recommend a Smart UPS that has this feature, also has gigabit port protection, and a low VA (for efficiency, because the connected loads won't be over 40W)
Thank you!
